Council Meeting May 11 @ 7pm
The bi-monthly meeting of Green Lake Community Council is this Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at The Hearthstone.
The primary focus of the May meeting will be a presentation by Seattle city personnel about the progress and current status of the Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda. Because this subject is so important to neighborhood residents, this meeting will mainly consist of this presentation.
A big part of this presentation will be getting feedback from YOU, the Green Lake residents, on the HALA provisions such as increasing density, upzoning single family properties to multi-family zoning, reducing parking and raising property taxes in an effort to make Seattle more affordable for more people.
We will also be discussing the July election of new board members and officers of Green Lake Community Council. If you are interested in what happens in your Green Lake neighborhood and would like to help work toward making Green Lake the best neighborhood it can possibly be, consider running for Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer or Member at Large.
Green Lake Community Council meets every second Wednesday of odd-numbered months in the chapel at The Hearthstone. The Hearthstone is the only high-rise on Green Lake and is at 6720 East Green Lake Way North. All are invited to attend. Walking, cycling, carpooling, Ubering and riding the bus to the meetings are encouraged.
